How we select what we sell
ÉclatDent is an independent French shop that selects, imports and ships from France targeted toothpastes (coffee stains, tobacco, breath, shine), manufactured by SADOER. This page explains how we choose what we sell, how we check it, and what this method does not guarantee.
Three non-negotiable criteria
1. Properly dosed fluoride: 1450 ppm
Fluoride is the only ingredient whose efficacy against cavities is a scientific consensus. We only keep formulas dosed at 1450 ppm, the reference concentration for adults. A fluoride-free formula is rejected, whatever its marketing says.
2. Controlled abrasiveness: RDA below 70
The RDA index (Relative Dentin Abrasivity) measures the wear a toothpaste inflicts on dentine. The regulatory ceiling is 250 (ISO 11609). We select formulas below 70, a low-abrasivity benchmark compatible with two brushings a day, because enamel does not grow back. The RDA index guide details the method and reference values.
3. A real effect on a specific problem
Coffee or tea stains, nicotine stains, breath, sensitive teeth, dull shade: every formula in the catalogue answers an identifiable situation. A formula that answers no precise situation has no place here: eight tubes are enough.
How we check
- Reading the INCI list printed on the packaging and the technical sheets of the manufacturer SADOER (fluoride dose, fluoride agent, abrasiveness).
- Real-life testing, in our own bathrooms, for at least four weeks: taste, texture, clean feeling, gum tolerance.
- Checking claims against independent sources (HAS, UFSBD, Cochrane reviews, ADA) before writing a product page. What we cannot verify is not stated: the “At a glance” sheet of each product leaves the line empty rather than inventing.
- Reading customer feedback and verified reviews: a formula that disappoints leaves the catalogue.
What this method does not guarantee
No toothpaste bleaches the natural shade of a tooth: it removes the stains sitting on the enamel surface, which helps restore the shine of the smile. Only dentist-supervised whitening changes the underlying shade. Our timelines are realistic: first nuances in 2 to 3 weeks depending on how old the stains are, a stable result in 4 to 6 weeks. A toothpaste replaces neither scaling nor a diagnosis: pain, lasting bleeding or one-sided sensitivity belong to the dentist.
What we do not sell
No fluoride-free formula, no peroxide, no at-home whitening kit, no “miracle in 3 days”. The few accessories in the catalogue (sonic brushes, water flosser, brush heads) follow the same logic: useful, chosen, no gadgets.
The resulting catalogue: Anti-Coffee Stains, Anti-Tobacco Stains, Activated Charcoal Whitening and Gentle Coconut Whitening, or the full Toothpastes collection.
